Best Lunch Spots in Denver: The Importance of Midday Lunch

October 18, 2017

You’ve definitely heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The importance of breakfast and getting off to a good start is certainly true, but lunch is also extremely important. Your midday fuelup is crucial for a variety of reasons, and keeps your mind and body running at optimal pace to finish out the workday. It’s certainly not always easy to be able to take a lunch break, but here are the reasons why you should!

Eat The Right Foods

You’ll often find people who skip lunch due to them being too busy or they’re trying to cut calories and lose weight. The latter theory almost never works, and skipping a meal wrecks havoc on your body. When you do make it out to lunch or eat the office, make sure your lunch is packed with nutritious, healthy food. Your nutrition will determine how productive you are the rest of the day. While we all love a good greasy meal every now and then, it’s best to skip that option for lunch.

Eating at midday, several hours after breakfast, allows your body to re-energize and raises blood sugar levels for better focus and concentration after lunch. Your boss will certainly enjoy that! Lunch can relieve yourself from feeling sluggish and feel refreshed and ready for your afternoon workload. Midday fuel also keeps your metabolism going compared to dropping off if you wait several hours between eating meals.

Research has shown that moving to a cafe or restaurant for lunch improves your creativity and thinking. The sounds of a cafe have been proven to be benefit your creative juices, and pushes you out of your comfort zone and propels your “out of the box” thinking. Aside from the noise level, working at a cafe or just taking your lunch break at a cafe allows for a fresh, new location. A change of location renews your focus and can get you to work on your to do list more quickly than if you’re stuck in the same workspace all day.

Best Restaurants in Denver: The Rising Popularity of Online Food Delivery

October 4, 2017

When you think of food delivery, you typically have only really considered pizza or Chinese food as an option. But, with the growing presence of the Internet and ecommerce, food delivery has skyrocketed for restaurants all over the world. It’s not just for pizza, anymore.

You’ll notice that many restaurants are adding the option of online order and online delivery as a way to increase sales and make it easier for customers to choose them as their eating destination. Gone are the old days of dialing your restaurant up on the phone to place an order; many restaurants have adopted new technologies to handle the rise of online food delivery orders. The changing market for food delivery is transforming every day. Here are just a few of the recent trends contributing to online food delivery from your best restaurant in Denver!

Food Delivery Apps and Social Media

It’s no surprise that companies have flocked to social media to help drive sales when it comes to online ordering. Apps for your phone have been introduced into the world as a way to make ordering easier and faster than ever before. Take Domino’s for example, who have dominated this trend in the past few years. Not only can customers create a “Pizza Profile” where they can input their information, and also their favorite pizza order, but they can actually order their favorite pizza but texting just a single emoji. Talk about ease of use for the customer!

Phone Orders Begone!

While most restaurants will still allow a customer to place an order by the phone, it might become the archaic way in the near future. So many restaurants are implementing online ordering as a way to make it extremely easy for the customer, and easy on their employees to receive orders as well. With the new install of online ordering, restaurants will see fewer and fewer errors on orders as you can eliminate language barriers and background noise that might cause the order to get miscommunicated like it would over the phone.

Lower Prices in the Future

As restaurants install equipment and implement a streamlined process for online ordering, this could allow restaurants to eventually lower their pricing. Social media will allow restaurants to attract new customers, and keep loyal ones, by incentivizing them with promotions and instant discounts when placing an order online. You’ll eventually see restaurants targeting audiences with specific promotions, and motivating more customers to order online.

At DJ’s Cafe, we certainly offer online ordering, and encourage you to try it out! We offer breakfast, brunch, and lunch from 7 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 3 pm Saturday and Sunday. Check out our menus for whatever meal you’re craving. We can also delivery lunch to your office if you can’t get out for a lunch break. Be sure to check out the top 5 lunch menu items! Denver Brunch Spots: The Rising Popularity of Brunch

September 20, 2017

Brunch is back, and bigger and better than ever! Traditionally a meal reserved for Mother’s Day, Easter, or Christmas, brunch is making a huge comeback among millennials looking for more of an experience or gathering rather than just a meal. Millennials are also spending more on food, roughly 44-percent, than any other generation, making them a prime clientele to attract for Denver brunch spots and why there are so many restaurants in Denver touting brunch.

Building a Brunch Program

Now that you know brunch is surging in popularity, it’s time to take advantage of it! But, where do you start? By building your restaurant’s very own brunch program. As an operator, you know that the brunch trend is picking up steadfast momentum, allowing you to create a program to capitalize on diners’ cravings and keeping up with trends.

Programs need to be executed correctly, in alliance with your chef. Your chef will have the capability to be creative and mash up popular breakfast and lunch diners and infuse them into a new brunch menu. Chefs can show off craftsmanship and innovative ideas. But, if you don’t do this well, you won’t get the number of diners you’re hoping for.

Always incorporate a well thought out menu, fun servingware, and a trendy atmosphere to curate a true program that will make diners want to enjoy not only the meal, but the brunch experience itself.

What’s On The Menu?

While having your chef use his imagination and craft up an award-winning brunch menu seems like a daunting tasks, it truly doesn’t have to be. The easiest way to create a new menu is to use what you have. Think simple, but remain creative. A brunch menu relies on the functionality of product utilization in going from serving breakfast, to lunch. You’ll want to utilize things more than once and get the most bang for your buck. For example, in our brunch menu we offer a multitude of eggs benedict possibilities. Some of the “fancier” ones utilize some type of meat that we will use in other dishes for lunchtime service, such as pulled pork in our Pulled Pork Benedict. Creating a brunch menu is much easier when you use ingredients and menu items that you utilize throughout the week during all services. This allows for a smooth transition from breakfast to lunch.

Another thing that people love on a brunch menu? The classics, but upgraded. People, especially millennials, look forward to brunch and think about that one dish that they’ve been craving all week. They’ll be expecting classic dishes that never go out of style, such as biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, breakfast burritos, you name it!

After you’re done creating your menu and building up your program, your restaurant is ready to rock and put it into place. Be sure to get the word out to your customers by posting on social media, emailing out an announcement in your newsletter list, and by placing ads on the tabletops or in check presenters. Your program won’t work if no one knows about it!

At DJ’s Cafe, we have a brunch menu in place, and are ready to cater to those who are searching for one of the best brunch spots in Denver! We offer classic dishes, some with a modern twist, and a cocktail menu so you can sip on your mimosa and with your meal if you want! Not in the mood for brunch? Whether you’re trying to stay in shape, or simply want a healthier option when you’re dining out, DJ’s Cafe has plenty of options for you! If you’re stopping by for some breakfast, we have options; if you’re stopping by for brunch or lunch, we have healthy choices for you, too! Irish Oatmeal

We’ve all heard of, and probably had, traditional oatmeal before, but Irish Oatmeal is a little bit different. What exactly is Irish Oatmeal? The short answer: steel cut oats, which take longer to cook than traditional oatmeal. For our Irish Oatmeal, we serve you up a bowl of steel cut oats with your choice of two toppings: dried cranberries, roasted pistachios, chopped dates, or brown sugar. In keeping the healthy mindset, we recommend the roasted pistachios and chopped dates for a taste bud-winning combination!

Build Your Own Scramble

If you like to do the choosing in making sure your breakfast is a healthy one, the Build Your Own Scramble is the perfection option for you! You can request that we make an omelet or scramble you eggs, and from there, choose the fillings!

You can stock up on veggies, as we offer the choices of spinach, crimini mushrooms, asparagus, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, shallots, artichoke hearts, avocado, kalamata olives, or poblano peppers. You can choose to add in cheese, if you wish, and select from cheddar, swiss, provolone, brie, goat cheese, pepper jack, American, blue, or feta. Finally, choose from bacon, Canadian bacon, sausage, chorizo, corned beef, or ham if you want to add some additional protein into your scramble!

Roasted Beet Salad

Looking for lighter fare for brunch? Check out our Roasted Beet Salad! We take organic spring mix, tossed with a citrus vinaigrette, and top it with roasted beets, roasted walnuts, fennel, and blue cheese crumbles. If you would like you add some protein, you can add healthy grilled chicken.

Cobb Salad

The classic Cobb Salad is always a favorite of our customers, and is a healthy option for lunch as well! The base consists of organic spring mix, then we toss the salad with your choice of dressing, and top it off with chicken breast, hard boiled egg, bacon (of course), avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, bleu cheese crumbles, and house made croutons.

Caprese Sandwich

Looking for something that’s healthy and substantial, but not a salad? The Caprese Sandwich might just be what you’re looking for! A Caprese salad is light and refreshing, and so is this sandwich. We take your typical Caprese ingredients, tomatoes, fresh basil, and mozzarella, and place them on fresh bread drizzled with olive oil and a balsamic vinaigrette. Delicious, light, and healthy!
